About the workplace – ViVA

ViVA is Vingåkers municipality's unit for adult education and labor market initiatives. Within the unit, the municipality's work with adult education, labor market support, and guidance is gathered, with the goal of strengthening the opportunities for adults in Vingåker to study, work, and support themselves.

The operations include municipal adult education in both theoretical and vocational training, labor market initiatives, internships, guidance, and coaching. The work is based on the individual's needs and conditions, with a clear connection to education, working life, and the local labor market. Collaboration with the Employment Service, other municipal operations, and the local business community is a central part of the mission.

ViVA is an organization that has emerged through development work and projects, and which continues to be characterized by a flexible and learning-oriented approach. While basic structures and routines are in place, there is a clear focus on cooperation, accountability, and collective learning in everyday life.

About the project – LAVA

The position is linked to the project LAVA – Learn, Work, Grow, Active, a collaboration project between Vingåkers municipality and the Employment Service. The project targets young people and young adults aged 16-29 who are outside of work and studies (UVAS).

LAVA is a cohesive approach where various initiatives are gathered in a common structure, tailored to the individual's needs and conditions. Within the project, study support, work-related initiatives, health-promoting support, and low-threshold activities are combined to create progression, motivation, and long-term opportunities for studies or work.

The project is implemented within the framework of ViVA and in close collaboration with the Employment Service, municipal operations, associations, and local employers. A central part of LAVA is to test, develop, and document a working method that can contribute to a more cohesive and sustainable support for young people who are outside of work and studies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a study pedagogue within LAVA, you are responsible for providing pedagogical support to participants who need to strengthen their study conditions before or alongside their studies. The work aims to increase participants' confidence in their abilities and their actual capacity to engage in education.

The role is flexible and adapts to the participants' needs and the project's various phases.

Your responsibilities include:

• providing individual and group-based support in study techniques, structure, and learning strategies
• working pedagogically with participants who have negative school experiences or low study habits
• supporting participants in study preparation initiatives before adult education or other training
• collaborating with coaches, career counselors, and other functions regarding participants' development
• contributing to ensuring that pedagogical initiatives are tailored to participants' conditions and goals
• documenting completed initiatives and progression

The focus is on strengthening study ability and perseverance, not on traditional classroom teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• pedagogical education or equivalent experience that the employer deems relevant
• experience working with adults or young people in need of pedagogical support
• good ability to tailor approaches and explain in a clear and motivating way
• the ability to work independently and in close collaboration with other professional roles
• good administrative skills and experience documenting

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience from teaching in adult education, folk high schools, or similar
• knowledge of special education or NPF
• experience in study preparation work in labor market-related contexts

We are looking for someone who is pedagogically clear, solution-focused, and has a strong desire to see participants take steps forward.
